What is a dream ...

One of the hardest things for me when I am crafting is matching colours so I grab inspiration for colours where I can. Crafty Lou ( check out her fab blog, in my side bar )had used this combo of colours on a recent project and they are two colours I would never have thought to put together but I love them and will use them again.
The cardstock used here is SU " taken with teal" and " real red ". Stamp is Mo Manning, end of Summer which I`ve had for a while but not used yet, coloured with distress inks - tattered rose, faded jeans, brushed corduroy, barn door, peeled paint and spiced marmalade. the paper is Daisy Bucket ( a favourite of mine ) the swirls were cut from the cricut calligraphy cartridge.

The poem is one I found a long while ago by Catherine Drummond. I have a little book which I jot down verses and prose in when I come across one I take a fancy to. The girl on the stamp looks like she`s away with the fairies dreaming ( like me most days, lol ! )so I thought the poem fit.
Well, that`s enough dreaming for me, back to reality and a pile of ironing !*sigh*
bye for now xx

Two feet Tildas

This Tilda is one of my favourites but she gets a bit of bad press because at a glance it has been said she looks like she only has one leg !! ( bless her ) She has been nicknamed " stumpy " by a few people lol !
I have coloured her using distress inks - faded jeans, brushed corduroy, tattered rose, The background paper is Daisy Bucket and the bunting is cut from odd bits of daisy bucket and magnolia papers ( good way to use up scraps ) I have cut the bunting using Cricut Calligraphy cartridge and strung them together with SU lined thread.

Here she is again but notice two legs !

For her critics, I have given her TWO legs ! I pinched them from Mistletoe Tilda ( hope she doesn`t mind ! )as the hemlines of the dresses were a good match making it easier to line the legs up. It shows you can mix and match the "bits" of Tilda`s if there is one that isn`t quite to your liking !
I have coloured her with distress inks again - tattered rose, spun sugar, walnut stain, worn lipstick and paper pieced her with SU papers and added liquid pearls in petal pink for the spots on dress and her shoe buttons.
The punch used is Martha Stewart and the ribbon and sentiment are SU.

Looks like it`s going to be a lovely sunny day again, pity I`ve got to go to work !!bye for now xx

I recently went to a SU party hosted by the very talented Bridgette who showed us a wonderfull technique using SU metallic inks. I purchased the platinum one and will certainly get the others in the range as I had the most fun playing with them.
This card was stamped once in black ink ( SU lovely as a tree set )then using the Stamp-a-ma-jig over stamped again just using the platinum ink to highlight. Just sponge a bit on the edges of the rubber stamp where you would like the "moonlight" to catch it, it gives a stunning effect and adds real dimension to your project.

The "moon" was created by punching a hole in a sticky note and using it as a mask and pouncing a mixture of white chalk and platinum liquid pearls through it.
The background paper is Basic Grey, Boxer, wide tie and the punch used is ash branch again highlighted with the platinum ink. Ribbon and sentiment are also SU.
I did get very inky fingers playing with this card but I think the end result was worth it and a technique I will deffinately use again, it`ll make great chrissy cards. Better go scrub my mucky mitts now ! bye for now xx

When a Knight won his spurs...

I had a clear out of my craft desk at the weekend ( took me most of an afternoon ! )
and I found this little sugar nellie Knight stamp I`d forgotten about bless him !
I had purchased the paper artsy castle stamp from sir stampalot recently and they just fit together. The background paper is from Die cuts with a view " once upon a time" which I`ve had in my stash for a while but haven`t used much of ( one of those paper pads that you just get off the shelf, look at and put back again, I know you all have them ! ) The dies used are sizzix extended die swirl and Trees/Forest and sizzix set leaves and branches, all of which I`ve had a LOT of mileage out of ! I am 3D-ing everything at the moment, can`t seem to make a flat card ! But I had a lot of fun with this one. ( not sure how I`d post it to someone but it does fold flat ! )
Well, it`s late, need my beauty sleep, bye for now xx

King of the Jungle

This Whipper Snapper stamp is one of my favourite stamps, I`ve had it ages and it`s probably the most used out of any stamp I own. I have stamped the image several times on various colours of Bazzill card stock and decoupaged him, adding chalk eyes ink to the edges for definition.
The background stamps are both from Magnolia, African Sun and Jungle Leaves and I have used chalks to colour the sky and ground. His nose and whisker dots are highlighted using crystal lacquers.
I`ve had a lovely afternoon crafting when I should have been doing housework but there`s always tomorrow for that !!

Kissing Frogs

I made this card a few weeks ago for Sir Stampalot where I am a design team member. I love Tildas but this is one of my favourites. I have coloured her with distress inks and used the new Magnolia papers for the background. The big flower is from Prima and the punches used are maidenhead fern and Martha Stewart doily lace both from Sir Stampalot.
Well, here it is ...... After soooo many people asked me " When are you going to do a blog ?" With a lot of help from my very good friend and fellow Blogger Louise, we sat down with a cup of coffee and I finally went and did it ! I shall endevour to post as regularly as I am able but I am very new to this so please bear with me as I play around with backgrounds, titles etc , for a little while at least.

Hopefully I can share a little bit of what I love to do with you and you`ll keep coming back for more, so here goes ........
