Tilda box card

It`s not often I sit down to craft with nothing in mind to do, this time I just wanted to play so I created this. I`d seen this idea for a box in a card before on several blogs and magazines, but I wasn`t sure how to assemble it until I got some inspiration from the new Magnolia magazine.

I haven`t had a play with my Tilda stamps for a while and I just wanted to make something very pretty and girlie ! I`ll probably end up giving it to one of my Nieces or my Goddaughter.

After I`d arranged the front of the card I didn`t see anywhere to place a sentiment so I used the doohicky tag die ( thanks for the loan Louise x ) to place the sentiment on a hidden tag which just slides out from under the main image.

Here is the inside view, I went to town a bit and had to stop myself from adding embellishments, I tend to get a bit carried away when faced with ribbon, pearls, glitter etc LOL !!

I`ve used Heavy weight (350gsm) card stock for the basic structure so it`s nice and sturdy and used the Hougie board to get very acurate folds in the concertina pleats for the sides of the box.
The Tilda`s are coloured in with distress inks ( I`ve just heard that distress inks are coming out in pen form YAY !! )and I have used distress inks antique linen to edge all the card, paper and borders.

The papers are Magnolia and Kanban, the dies are Doohicky doily and tag ( thanks again for the loan of the tag Louise x)and also my new Cheery Lynn die - Fanciful Flourish available from Sir Stampalot.

I`ve also used Martha Stewart punch around the page - antique lace and Tim Holtz tatty floral for the big flower on the front, Marianne creatables die for the little paper roses and leaves, SU adhesive pearls, stickles - diamond, Prima and orchid crafts flowers and SU ribbon and sentiment.

The little flower charm on the spine is from Meiflower. ( got to get some more of these at stamperama in a couple of weeks )

I really enjoyed having a play and creating this, it took me three days off and on as I didn`t know where I was going with it at first, I just knew I wanted to have a go at this type of project. So I kept adding bits and pieces to it and got to play with all my new dies and got my Tilda`s out of retirement ! lol.
I`m off now to do some much needed housework ( which went by the wayside while I was playing !)
Thanks for stopping by my blog, bye for now and happy crafting xx

O` to be in England !

Over at Allsorts Challenge Blog, Nicola has set the theme this time which is "Celebration of Nations"
This is my take on the challenge which I`d like to enter.

I`ve paper pieced the Union Flag with paper and cardstock from Basic Grey - Boxer,
Coredinations - Kraft Core and Magnolia - Newspaper.
The Castle is a Paper Artsy stamp which I`ve decoupaged onto Kraft core and dirtied up a bit with pumice stone distress inks. The little knight is one of my all time fave stamps a Sugar Nellie ( just love him )and I found a real feather in my craft stash just the right colour for his helmet.
The bunting is a Molly Blooms stamp paper pieced with bo bunny and MME papers and the sentiment is SU.

I`ve given his shield and sword a bit of shine with glossy accents.

I`d lost my mojo a bit lately with crafting due to being unwell for the last 8 weeks, but I`m on the mend now and was in the mood for a bit of crafting. I needed to make my StepDad Dave a card for his birthday in a couple of weeks but didn`t have any inspiration to get started. I`m glad I had a browse at the allsorts blog and saw Nicola`s challenge as it gave me the inspiration for my card. We don`t get much of a chance to do a bit of flag waving these days so it`s great to make a themed card for my country, I`m very proud to be English, we have such a beautiful country steeped in history and heritage and I hope my card reflects that.
Thanks again Nicola for a great challenge that gave me back my mojo !!

I`m off now for a well earned cuppa, thanks for stopping in, bye for now and happy crafting xx

Hedgehogs and Hearts

I`ve been a bad blogger lately but I have a good excuse, unfortunatley my health has taken a turn for the worse lately with a bad throat and chest infection and then pulling all the intercostal muscles in my left side which left me completely immobile for a couple of weeks, then with all the Christmas holidays I haven`t got around to much crafting. But I`m almost mended now and back on the road to recovery.
I hope everyone out there in blog-land has had a great Christmas and I`d like to wish you all a Happy New Year too !

Here is a card I`ve done for my friends anniversary which is coming up in a couple of months. I`ve used a Penny Black slapstick stamp which I got from the Stamperama show last year (I`m looking forward to attended that again next month). I`ve coloured using distress inks and decoupaged the hands and feet on one of the little hedgehogs for a bit of dimension.
The Papers are Echo Park from Sir Stampalot, the little tags and sentiments are SU, and the flowers are from Prima and Orchid Crafts.

I`d like to enter this into the Penny Black and more @ Allsorts Challenge, this time around the theme is - Love and Hearts.

Sorry again for my extended absence but now I`m on the mend I should be back to crafting and posting more regularly, bye for now and happy crafting xx
