Lion up a tree !

I fell in love with this Lion when I saw him on a recent trip to Sir Stampalot. I love the cross expresion on his face as he`s got himself stuck in the tree !! he is called "Lion up a tree" from The Zoo collection. I`ve coloured him in with distress inks, the background paper is BoBunny and I`ve used Cheery Lynn die - Fanciful Flourish, the sentiment was one from a whoots owl set but I thought it went well with the subject matter LOL !! The background was created using scattered straw distress ink and a sponge over a cloud template, I wanted it to look hot instead of a blue sky which I think kind of worked ........ It looks like it`s going to be a lovely hot day again here too, I may take a trip out in my car now it`s fixed . I woke up yesterday morning to a massive puddle of oil under my car and none actually in the car when I checked. I managed to put enough oil in to get me to the nearest garage where they discovered a hole in my oil filter. An oil and filter change and about half hours work and I was back on the road again. I am very thankful to Alan Burnett of Cradge Bank Garage who did such a quick and efficient job for me, when I saw the huge oil leak under my car I feared it was terminal !! So like I said, I may take a trip out today and enjoy the sunshine. Thanks for looking in, bye for now and happy crafting xx

Gone Fishing

Here is another of the new Tildas that I`ve done for Sir Stampalot I`ve coloured her with distress inks and added a bit of glossy accents to the fish and the water in the bucket to give a "wet" look ..... The angle she is sitting at and the fact that her fishing rod is bent, suggests she is pulling back on the rod with something heavy on the end and I didn`t have anything appropriate to hook onto her line...... so I came up with the Molly blooms bucket and fish...... the expression on the fishes face says it all " ha ha you got the bucket and I escaped"!!!! I thought it would add a bit of humour ! (but maybe that`s just me !!)...... I`ve also used Bo bunny papers and Nesties Circle and Scallop Circle dies...... The deck chair she is sitting on is Molly Blooms also which I paper pieced with a stripey bo bunny paper (although as it turns out, not much of it shows!) the grass is a Magnolia dohicky die........ Well it is actually warm and sunny here today ! a miracle for England! so I`m going to sit in the garden today and make the most of it. Thanks for looking in, bye for now and happy crafting xx

Tilda with Magnolia Branch

This is one of the new Tilda`s from Magnolia that I`ve done for Sir Stampalot and I`d like to enter this into the new Tilda Town Challenge which started this week. The first theme is " Anything Goes " .................... This is Tilda with Magnolia branch, I`ve coloured her with distress inks and silly me forgot to give her something to sit on so I had to paint a background in which I`m not sure works ? at least the poor dear isn`t floating in mid-air !! The Nestie used for the shape is Labels three, I`ve also used doohicky dies - doily and tag, sizzix branch die and Magnolia paper - Magnolia tree from the Bon Voyage collection and a Magnolia flower. The sentiment is from a Hero Arts mixed sentiment clear set. This is my first attempt at a Blonde Tilda, I usually always make her a Brunette or Redhead ( like me !) so I was quite pleased with her blonde locks. ( probably why I forgot to give her something to sit on, I was having a blonde moment LOL !! although these days I seem to have more "senior" moments!! On that note I`d better get on with my day , got some housework and grocery shopping to do ( I`d rather be crafting !) thanks for looking in, bye for now and happy crafting.

Tree of Luck

This is another sample I`ve done for Sir Stampalot using a background stamp from the new Magnolia Tilda range. This is the Japanese tree of Luck and to be honest I had a bit of trouble deciding how this should be coloured as I could find no reference to a Japanese tree of luck at all, the nearest I found was a Japanese maple which some Japanese people use as a symbol of luck but there is no official "tree of luck " as near as I can tell, so I don`t know what the designer had in mind with this one. I thought the little Tilda Geisha went really well with this one so I add her and coloured both images with distress inks and added a bit of Stickles - Diamond for added sparkle . The little butterfly is also from Magnolia.
The aperture was cut using Nesties Circle and Scallop Circle dies and the flourish is a Sizzix extended cuts - "Swirly" die. The background paper is from the new Magnolia collection too and the flower is from Hobby House also available at Sir Stampalot .... We`ve had a bit of a downpour this morning, honestly if this weather keeps up I`m going to start building an Ark !! but the sun has decided to come out now so I may venture outside this afternoon. Thanks for looking in, bye for now and happy crafting xx

Chatting Whoots

Here is another of the samples I`ve done for Sir Stampalot this one is called "Chatting Whoots" I love these little owls, they are sooooo cute . I`ve coloured with distress inks and decoupaged their little feet so that they sit neatly on a branch . I used Maidenhair fern punch available from Sir Stampalot here to create the branch they are sitting on so they aren`t hanging in mid air !! The backing paper is Bo Bunny and I`ve cut a couple of the butterflies out of the paper ( from the bit behind where it doesn`t show ) and added them for a bit of dimension . The set comes with three sentiments to choose from, all featuring a " hoots " pun which is a lot of fun . It has non stop rained here for weeks now and although it gives me a good excuse to stay in and craft, I am getting a bit sick of it now ( the rain that is, not crafting ! LOL ! ) I did go to Boston this morning, managed to get in a quick bit of birthday shopping for a friend between bouts of rain ! now I`m off to put the finishing touches to her card and wrap her prezzies, thanks for lookin in, bye for now and happy crafting xx

Birthday Whoots

This is a sample card I`ve done for Sir Stampalot the image is from an Art Impressions set called Birthday Whoots. It comes with three different sentiments to choose from. I`ve coloured with distress inks, used Nesties Circle and Scallop circle for the shape and the flowers are a mixture of prima and hobby house. The tree was a die borrowed from my friend Tina which I thought was a Cheery Lynn die but it turns out it was a memory box small tree die, but I thought it looked good as a bit of foliage round the image . Janice at Sir Stampalot gave me four of these "Whoots" sets to play with, they are all adorable and I had great fun using the little owls, they are so cute . I`ll post the other cards next . I`m off to Sir Stampalot today to deliver the samples as it`s a very wet and miserable day here so what better excuse to go to a craft shop LOL ! Bye for now and happy crafting xx
